Opening Speech
Mrs. Barbara
Hewitt, British council Director, ladies & Gentlemen. Directors of Official
& private Schools.Teachers of English Language . Dear parents and winners .
On behalf of ATEL higher committee, it is my
great pleasure to welcome you today to the Award Ceremony of the reading
competition that was held the previous year among around 50 schools all over Lebanon .The aim of this
competition is to encourage students to go back to the usage of books in order
to explore the ultimate pleasure that lies within the covers of the books .
Another important aim is to encourage students to use imagination and
creativity as effective tools for educational production . The result was very
fruitful , since most of the chosen pieces were full of very creative ideas.
The master pieces were done by the two
first winners who created a work that has gone beyond the limits of the
ordinary .All this achievement wouldn’t have existed without the support and
cooperation of Libraire du Liban and without the wide participation of all
schools represented by the English teachers . Big thanks to all hoping to keep
walking on the right track of success . A big bunch of thanks to the winners
,you are adding more beauty to the world of education ,feel proud you are
pushing your schools’ to the highest ranks . In few words the harvest is very
rich and fruitful and the most precious thing is that we are all here from all the different
regions of
In the end celebrating such ceremonies will
tighten our relation and will give more enthusiasm and encouragement to achieve
better results .
