ATEL Nationwide Workshops

 Dear Colleague,

ATEL sincerely greets you and wishes you a successful academic year.

 Since the aim is professional development to improve the teacher’s performance, ATEL in collaboration with the British Council decided to launch a new series of regional workshops for English language educators at all levels in Lebanon.

Workshops will be delivered in seven regions around Lebanon.

ATEL workshops are FREE of charge a) for ATEL members when showing their 2012 membership, and b) for those who become members during the workshop by paying 25,000L.L.

Non-members will be charged 15,000L.L. per workshop.

You are kindly requested to fill in the registration form below. The registration form should be mailed maximum 3 WORKING days prior to the workshop.

Workshops Abstracts

 

A- Putting the Fifth Skill to work – John McRae

Professor John McRae from the University of Nottingham will outline the Five Skills approach and discuss practical samples of how to make it work in class, with reading texts at various levels.  John introduced the Five Skills approach to reading at the ATEL conference in May 2012.  This workshop is designed to help teachers apply it practically.

Target Audience: Teachers & coordinators of all levels

 

B- Developing Speaking & Writing for Young Learners (K-8) – Hanadi Mirza

Teachers will be exposed to a wide variety of activities that they can use in class to  develop their students’ oral and written communication. The problems that learners face in speaking and writing will be discussed and practical solutions and suggestions for improvement will be offered.

 

Target Audience: KGs up to grade 8 language teachers & coordinators
